Self-Guided Wicklow Way Hike Tours explore the ‘Garden of Ireland’ in Ireland’s Ancient East.

Beginning in the vibrant heart of Dublin City, this Wicklow Way journey starts with an overnight stay where you can soak up the capital’s lively atmosphere before setting out from Marlay Park, the official start of the trail. As you climb into the scenic foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, you’ll soon arrive at Enniskerry, a charming village celebrated for its proximity to Powerscourt Estate. From there, the route carries you through rolling countryside and wooded glens until you reach Roundwood, offering a cosy overnight stay near the shores of Lough Dan. Continuing on, you’ll traverse open moorland and forested paths to Laragh, the gateway to the ancient monastic site of Glendalough and a perfect base for immersing yourself in the region’s history and natural splendour. Finally, winding between rugged peaks and tranquil valleys, the trail leads you to the secluded beauty of Glenmalure, a serene finale to your north-to-south adventure along the Wicklow Way.
