Within Ireland’s Shannon Region in County Clare, there is a feast of great cycling options through a series of scenic routes, dramatic landscape contrasts and historic landmarks. Here is why you should take a Clare Bike Tour this Autumn
Our 8-Day tour includes 6 cycles and 7 nights accommodation. You start and finish in Ennis, travelling clockwise around the county. Visiting the town of Kilrush on the Shannon Estuary, the wonderful village of Doolin, and enjoying wonderful views of Galway Bay Coastline.
The best highlight of this tour, on the roads which hug the coastline, are:
1. Visit the Cliffs of Moher
Ireland’s most iconic landmark and named top destination in Ireland for third year running – they are a natural beauty and a sight to behold. The Cliffs of Moher stretch for 8km along the Atlantic coast of Clare, the cliffs reach 214m at their highest point at Knockardakin.
2. Lisdoonvarna
Stop off in the world famous matchmaking town of Lisdoonvarna. The festival takes place from 30th August until 29th September. People come from all parts of the world to take part in the festival. Willie Daly, Ireland’s only official matchmaker, has made over 3,000 matchmaking marriages so he must be doing something right! Plus there’s plenty of great country music acts and dancing across the village so definitely drop by during your cycling tour.

3. Lahinch
A small, welcoming and truly lively holiday resort, Lahinch has an atmosphere and energy that’s all its own. It nestles at the head of Liscannor Bay, beside a 2km long beach of golden sands. The shape of the resort creates Atlantic breakers that attract surfing and canoeing enthusiasts from all over the world and Lahinch has earned a reputation as a top ‘surf centre’ with surf schools, social life and great atmosphere to boot.
Take time out of your County Clare cycle tour to relax, put on a wetsuit and try surfing at one of Lahinch’s many surf schools.

The Burren National Park is a unique area of stunning beauty said to resemble the surface of the moon. Touring the Burren by bike, you will enjoy the amazing natural history, breath-taking views this natural phenomenon has to offer.
