Hike the Kingdom of Kerry – two spectacular peninsula’s in the South West of Ireland & experience them with a local Irish Guide, learning about this land that is alive with culture & history.

This tour offers you the highlights Kerry Way Hike &  Dingle Way Hike. The Kerry Way route runs parallel to the route of the famous Ring of Kerry and is is probably the most picturesque place in Ireland. The Dingle Way route takes you from Tralee, along the Kerry Camino and on the the most westerly point in Europe. The Dingle Peninsula just north of the Kerry Way and is equally impressive. Enjoy rugged mountains, surrounded by the pounding Atlantic Ocean and a tapestry of green fields while enhancing the landscape around you.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Killarney
Day 1: Arrive to Killarney, meet your local guide and your other group members (max 8 people) and settle into your first accommodation (2 overnights here). Tonight enjoy a delicious meal in one of the towns best restaurants and maybe a drink in a local pub as you get to know the other members of your group.

Day 2 - Killarney
Enjoy a wonderful boat trip through the beautiful Three Lakes of Killarney. Reach an old “hunting” lodge & start your hike. An old Mass Path used for centuries leads you through ancients woodland as your journey back to Killarney completing your hike at the iconic 19th century Muckross House & Gardens.

Day 3 - Ring of Kerry
Drive to the western tip of the Ring of Kerry and be immersed into idyllic landscapes around Derrynane National Park. Enjoy pristine beaches, lush woodlands, ancient abbey ruins and the rich history of Daniel O’Connell, one of Ireland most prominent historical figures who once lived here. Following your hike you will transfer to the seaside village of Waterville, your home for the next two nights.

Day 4 - Skellig Coastline
Overlooking the Skellig Islands and the Wild Atlantic Ocean, your hike today takes you to an old ruined signal tower. Early Christianity mixes with a military history to fascinate & astound you.

Day 5 - Dingle
Dingle is today's destination. Enjoy a walk on the magnificent Inch Beach & then travel west to reach Dingle town. From there, continue west to enjoy a breath-taking hike that offers a kaleidoscope of mountains and sea views. Dingle is famous for its bars and restaurants serving the very best of local cuisine, a fitting reward after today's hike. (3 overnights in Dingle)

Total Distance: 5.5km & 4.5kms | Total Ascent: 3m & 195m | Total Descent: 2m & 196m | Max Elevation: 4m & 377m
Day 6 - Slea Head
One of the most spectacular hikes is around Slea Head at the western tip of the Dingle Peninsula. See ancient beehive huts, monastic ruins and the stunning Blasket Islands as you enjoy one of the most impressive days of your holiday.

Day 7 - Brandon Point
Step back in time as you hike on the north western shores of the Dingle Peninsula to a place only accessible by foot. With views across Mount Brandon and Dingle Bay, you may be lucky and see migrating whales & dolphins.

Total Distance: 13.2kms | Total Ascent: 630m | Total Descent: 640m | Max Elevation: 395m
Day 8 - Tralee
Departure from Tralee bus / rail station. Avail of the excellent public transport to all major airports, cities & ferry ports.
