Maurice and his friends enjoyed a day out walking in Cork when they stumbled across this piece of bog land! Bogs have a living surface which is made of a carpet of Sphagnum mosses. The earth is waterlogged underneath it and Sphagnum mosses is floating and growing on top of this. This is why when you walk across the surface of a bog it feels bouncy.

We support the Irish Peatland Conservation Council, visit their website to find out more about the bogs in Cork & the rest of Ireland!
